2.      Plant Morphology of cottonwood (Ceiba pentandra L.)
cottonwood (Ceiba pentandra L.) is a tropical tree that is widely grown in Asia. An abort kapok tree flowers with trees 8-30 m high and can have a trunk large enough to reach a diameter of 3 m. In the trunk there are large spikes paste cone shaped. The leaves are long-stemmed and berbilang 5-9. Flowers gathered in the armpit leaves that have fallen down (near the end of the branch). Calyx bell-shaped , with a short notched 1-2 cm high. Obovate petals and elongated with a length of 2.5-4 cm. Number of stamens 5, united into a short tube shape, and has a twist anthers. 5 will bear fruit with seeds that would pretty much. Kapok tree has fruit elongated shape with a length of 7.5-15 cm, hanging, hard -skinned and green when young and brown if it is old . In the fruit seeds are surrounded by fine hairs, yellowish fiber that is a mix of lignin and cellulose. Seed shape is round, small, and black (Setiadi, 1983).

Another name of the plant Randu namely : Cotton, Randu (Indonesia), silk cotton tree (England) ; kapokier (Francis) ; kapokbaum (German) ; ceiba, ceibo (Spain).
